The upcoming OnePlus Nord mid-ranger has beengetting a lot of fan attention. In no small part, thanks to the abundanceof info on the still unannounced device, from both leaks and official sources, eager todiscuss its design and hardware choices. The company has revealed that the Nord willuse Google’s phone, Messages apps rather than OnePlus’ own. It’ll come with Duo, too.

The phone maker wasn’t specific about thereasons why, but said the Google apps would deliver the “smoothest” experience. Raw performance shouldn’t be an issue theNord will use a Snapdragon 765G that can easily handle a dialer or text chat. This does, however, give Nord owners accessto RCS messaging, the deep integration of Duo video chats and a common calling experience.

The Indian buyers will be getting the sameSnapdragon 765G chipset as global ones. A recent trio of GeekBench listings for aOnePlus AC2001 all report performance numbers more in-line with what we expect from theSnapdragon 765G, as well as a matching CPU frequency of 1.8GHz and 12GB of RAM. The AC2001 model identifier has been spottedon the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website in the past.

Other known specs for the upcoming OnePlusNord include a 90HZ AMOLED panel, with 180Hz touch sampling rate. The Nord team has also openly discussed camerachoices, including the familiar 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera, complete with and f/1.75aperture and OIS. Alongside that – an 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depthunit and a macro camera. On the front – a 32MP selfie snapper anda secondary one, with a 105-degree ultrawide field of view. Other leaks have also mentioned a 4,115 mAhbattery, with 30W fast charging support.

The OnePlus Nord will be available in BlueMarble, Gray Onyx and Gray Ash. While coming to the price it’s pretty muchconfirmed that the device will be priced under $500.
